Cap Juluca Gets Quite a Facelift — Right Now!
Refreshed, renewed and rejuvenated... not only will you feel that way when you leave Cap Juluca, the lady herself is getting a little lift -- if you call $13 million worth of lift "little," that is. The result of Cap Juluca enjoying new ownership, Cap Juluca will receive a $13 million renovation during this year's annual off-season closing from September 1 through October 31.
As excited as we all are to see a more beautiful Cap Juluca, have no fears. This renovation will be complete well before Christmas, and absolutely no construction will take place at Cap Juluca between Christmas of 2008 and Easter of 2009. |
Enhancements at Cap Juluca Wherever You Turn
The renovation begins with a million dollars invested in new landscaping and lighting to make the resort's grounds magnificent both during the day and the night. Literally thousands and thousands of new colorful flowers are being added throughout Cap Juluca's grounds. In addition, the property lighting will be dramatically enhanced with romantic night lighting to highlight the details of the new landscaping and adding to the ambiance during delightful Caribbean evenings.
Next, our focus is on upgrading the service you will receive on Cap Juluca's unrivalled Maundays Bay Beach. All-new beach furniture will be placed on one of the world's best beaches. But that's just the beginning. We are tripling the number of beach service stations for our increased numbers of staff on the beach, and have purchased for nearly $100,000 a new beach groomer and cleaning machine to ensure that Cap Juluca's exquisite white sand beach will be pristine. Feel free to make it your goal each day to be the first to put your footprints in the virgin sand.
All the Main House public spaces and George's beach restaurant will have a complete makeover. Pimms' will receive significant cosmetic upgrades too. And Kemia will be replaced with a brand new restaurant of Pan-Asian cuisine - the handiwork of our new incredibly talented chef, René Bajeux, who formerly was the Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Maui and the Four Seasons Beverly Hills and who has made frequent appearances at New York's renowned James Beard House.
A dramatic enhancement of Cap Juluca's Main House will include a new attractive stone flooring, a new Main House indoor/outdoor bar, a new comprehensive book/DVD library and computer room, a new movie and projection TV theater, substantially more boutique space, as well as a new enclosed and stylish reception lobby for you to interact with our front desk, concierge and spa concierge staff.
All our villa guest rooms will receive plush new bedding and terry, new large rugs, new lush potted plants, functioning louver doors, and handsome new patio furniture. Bowing to popular demand , each guestroom will also have new flat screen televisions, Bose-branded CD players, iPod players, DVD players and free wireless internet access. To help you move around Cap Juluca, and to help us go green, we have ordered an entire fleet of solar powered golf carts and two Lexus Hybrid SUV's, so that we will have new environmentally friendly transport options up and down the length of Cap Juluca both for our guests and our staff. And yes, speaking of our staff, since we realize that our team at Cap Juluca is our biggest asset, we are also making meaningful upgrades to their back-of-the-house facilities. It is axiomatic that our making it easier for our staff to do their jobs well will directly translate to happier employees and better service for you.
And these changes are just the tip of an iceberg, as an entire array of product enhancements and innovations will await you at Cap Juluca this coming winter. |
An Upgrade Designed by the Best
This transformational effort is being led by noted designer Paul Duesing, who has such spectacular hotels and resorts to his credit as Palmilla and Las Ventanas in Cabo San Lucas, three Four Seasons properties including the Four Seasons Santa Barbara, the extraordinary Grand Hotel du Cap in St. Jean de Cap Ferrat - not to mention the personal London residence of the Sultan of Brunei.
Our project architect is none other than Oscar Farmer, the original Cap Juluca architect who back in the 1980's was responsible for Cap Juluca's iconic Greco-Moorish design.
Oscar's work has withstood the test of time, and he has come out of retirement to put new touches on the master work of his career.
And of course, Cap Juluca's new ownership, led by the travel industry's widely respected Adam Aron, is personally involved every step along the way. Cap Juluca's new ownership also sits at the helm of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises and Silversea Cruises - simply put, three of the most luxurious cruise lines to be found anywhere in the world. Cap Juluca's new ownerships knows quality, knows luxury and knows service - and is committed to giving you the ultimate experience while still retaining the casual elegance that makes Cap Juluca so magical.
Importantly, much of our renovation is the result of listening to ideas from Cap Juluca's
past guests. So, please feel free to share any ideas you may have with us (email: capjulucaideas@aol.com or send your comments through our new web site at www.capjuluca.com). We welcome all suggestions, and don't be surprised if we actually implement what you tell us! |
Ready for You
Looking further ahead, there are more exciting changes a year or more down the road. A new spa. A new and elegant multi-acre swimming pool. Fully renovated villas throughout Cap Juluca. An environmentally purified Maundays Bay Pond and Cove Bay Pond. And development of Cap Juluca and the creation of a new National Beach Park in Anguilla on the adjacent and gorgeous Cove Bay Beach, which has been left fallow and wasted for so many years.
Rest assured, we will keep you updated on our progress both now and in the future. And we look forward to welcoming you back to Anguilla as early as this coming winter to a much enhanced and much transformed Cap Juluca. With all these changes, it is fair to say that Paradise beckons... Tranquility calls... and Serenity awaits you.
