Maundays Bay , Anguilla ( September 15,
2003 ) - Cap Juluca, on the Caribbean island of Anguilla , will hold its
first annual Baron Phillipe de Rothschild Gastronomique Celebration October
27-29, 2003 , featuring three special dinners. In conjunction with this,
a Winemaker Getaway program is available for any four nights from October
25-31, with rates ranging from $3,010-$3,760 per couple depending on type
of accommodation.
For the Gastronomique Celebration, a member of the Baron Phillipe de Rothschild
family will be present to talk about the estate and the wines served for
each special dinner, all of which feature a dégustation menu created by
Cap Juluca's Executive Chef, George Reid.
The first dinner highlights Chilean wines, including Rothschild's Carmenere
Reserve and their Almaviva Vintage 1997. Complementing these will be Chef
Reid's Pan Seared Jerk Foie Gras and Sansho Crusted Lamb Loin. The second
dinner will include table wines such as Reserve Mouton Cadet (Graves White),
served with Crayfish wrapped in Serrano and Baron Arques Vintage 1998,
served with Poussin with Duck Gizzard. The gala dinner features some of
their finest wines, including Aile d'Argent, the white wine of Mouton
Rothschild, Vintage 1999, which will accompany Half-Cooked Teryaki Glazed
Ahi Tuna; Château Mouton Rothschild Vintage 1988 with Pan Roasted Kobe
Beef Tenderloin; and Chateau Coutet 1997 for a Pear Bavarian with Fresh
Strawberry Marmalade.
The Winemaker Getaway-part of the ongoing Vineyard of the Month program-is
available any time during that week. Included are four nights' accommodation;
four dinners, including the three wine dinners and the fourth in any of
Cap Juluca's three restaurants or from room service; a bottle of wine
and hors d'oeuvres on arrival; a half-day snorkeling trip; taxi transfers
to and from the Anguilla airport or ferry terminal; and 20% tax and service
charges.
Also included and complimentary to all Cap Juluca guests is breakfast
daily served on the guests' private terrace; all water sports, including
water skiing; day and night tennis with two weekly clinics; golf at the
aqua driving range, putting green and bunker (golf balls are an added
charge); use of the health club; mini-bar set up; afternoon tea served
on the terrace of the Main House; sorbet service on the beach and poolside;
a nightly movie; croquet; and horticultural tours.
Cap Juluca's three restaurants include George's, for casual dining on
the beach; Pimms, elegant and romantic; and Kemia, which offers bite-sized
delicacies from around the world in a Moroccan setting. A wide variety
of spa rituals are offered, ranging from Holistic Aromatherapy Facials
to Jamu Massages and the Lulur Royal Ritual.
Award-winning and luxurious, Cap Juluca is a secluded, sophisticated and
romantic 179 acre retreat with 58 spacious luxury rooms and junior suites,
seven suites and six pool villas located in 18 very private white Moorish
style two story beachfront villas. All rooms have ocean views and are
